Stock market
Ticker
The short code that identifies a company's shares on the stock market, such as AAPL for Apple or KO for Coca-Cola.
Why does it matter?
It is how brokers, news sites and StockLab's search find a company quickly.
How do I read it?
A ticker is only a label; it doesn't measure anything. Shares on Brazil's B3 end in a number, like PETR4 for Petrobras, and StockLab's search also accepts these for the Brazilian companies it covers.
Example
Typing KO in StockLab's search takes you to Coca-Cola. Typing PETR4, Petrobras's ticker on B3, takes you to Petrobras, which trades in New York as PBR.
On StockLab
Tickers appear next to every company name, and the search accepts them.
