What StockLab saves, and why.

Last updated: October 2026

Without an account

StockLab works without an account. Your Watchlist, recently viewed companies, Practice Mode progress, the Learn articles you have read, language and theme are saved only in your browser. Your language and theme are also sent to StockLab with each page request, only so pages appear in the right language and colors. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

With an account

Accounts are optional. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with StockLab's sign-in service, which keeps them with your account. StockLab uses only your email address, to recognize your account and show it on the Account page. Your account keeps your Watchlist, recently viewed companies and Practice Mode progress so they appear on all your devices.

Anonymous usage counts

StockLab counts how the site is used, such as pages opened, companies searched and Practice Mode scenarios finished, to learn what helps beginners and what to improve. Your browser gets a random code so repeat visits can be counted; it contains no name, email or IP address and is never linked to your account. Detailed counts are kept for 12 months; after that only monthly totals remain.

Messages you send

If you write to StockLab on the Contact page, your message is saved, with your name and email address if you give them. They are used only to read and answer your message, and are deleted after 12 months, or sooner if you ask.

Where it's stored

StockLab runs on Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database and sign-in). Account data and messages are stored with Supabase. Both services may keep short-lived security logs, such as IP addresses, and may process data outside Brazil, including in the United States. Other visitors can't see your saved items.

Cookies and browser storage

StockLab uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Two small cookies remember your language (stocklab-locale) and theme (stocklab-theme). Your browser's own storage keeps your Watchlist, recently viewed companies, Practice Mode progress, the Learn articles you have read, whether you have seen the welcome box and the random code for usage counts; when you sign in, also your sign-in session. None of it is shared with other websites.

What StockLab doesn't do

StockLab doesn't sell your data, show ads or share your information with anyone else, and it doesn't track you on other websites.

Signing out and deleting your account

Signing out removes your saved items from that browser; they stay in your account. You can delete your account at any time on the Account page: this deletes the account and everything saved in it, on all your devices.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or to know how it is used, by writing on the Contact page. In Brazil you can also file a complaint with the ANPD, the national data protection authority.

Who is responsible

StockLab's owner is responsible for the data described on this page. To reach them, use the Contact page.

Age

Accounts are for people aged 13 and older. Anyone can use StockLab without an account.
