The company at the time
Verizon is one of the largest phone and internet companies in the United States. Its sales barely grow, but its profit and free cash flow are steady, and it pays a large dividend, which is why many investors see it as a calm stock. It has much more debt than cash, partly from building its networks and from buying out Vodafone's share of its wireless business in 2014, and it was spending heavily on its new 5G network. Two weeks ago a court approved T-Mobile's merger with Sprint, creating a stronger competitor. This week, stock markets had started to fall on worries about a new virus spreading beyond China.
Information available at the time
The same numbers as on company pages, as they had been reported by February 25, 2020. Sector medians aren't shown because StockLab doesn't have them as they stood back then.
Revenue, growth, profit and cash flow are for fiscal year 2019 (ended December 2019), the latest full year in an annual report filed by then; cash and debt come from the latest report (its date is on the card). Results announced after that aren't in these cards yet, even if the story above mentions them, so their numbers can differ.
