Fiscal Year

The 12-month period a company uses for its yearly reports. Many companies use the calendar year; others end their year in a different month, such as Apple (September) or Microsoft (June).

Why does it matter?

Every yearly number on StockLab belongs to a fiscal year, so knowing when it ends tells you which period you are looking at.

How do I read it?

When you compare two companies, check whether their fiscal years end in different months. StockLab shows the fiscal year next to the figures.

Example

Microsoft's fiscal year runs from July to June, so its fiscal 2025 ended in June 2025. Apple's ends in late September.

On StockLab

Company pages say which fiscal year the figures come from and the month it ended.
