Company reports
Business Segment
A part of a company's business that it reports separately, such as a product line, a division or a region.
Why does it matter?
It shows where the company's revenue comes from.
How do I read it?
StockLab shows the split from the company's latest annual report when the numbers add up cleanly. Each company decides how to define its segments, so splits are not always comparable between companies.
Example
Apple reports its revenue by product, such as iPhone, Mac, iPad, wearables and services, which shows how much of the business depends on the iPhone.
On StockLab
Company pages show revenue by segment when the latest annual report breaks it down cleanly.
